Occupied Balochistan: Pakistani authorities have detained hundreds of Baloch activists just a day before the fifth martyrdom anniversary of Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Bugti. The Pakistani security forces carried out raids and search operations in Dera Bugti, Degaari, Mand and several other areas.

The Baloch National Voice said that Pakistan forces launched an offensive military operation in Marwaar, Degaari, Narbaadi, Peer Smail, Margat and Marrow areas here on Wednesday. The statement of BNV said that the security forces have used long rang weapons and gunship helicopters. The authorities have laid a siege around all the above mentioned areas and started a search operation and whisked away around 40 innocent people.

Separately, around 60 people have reportedly been arrested from Dera Bugti and Sui areas when the Pakistani authorities started to randomly arrested Baloch activists.

Meanwhile at least ten Baloch political activists have been detained in Balochistan's border town of Mand after a raid on a local restaurant Thursday morning.

They whisked away Ghoram Khalid, who is the senior vice president of the local chapter of the Baloch Republican Party (BRP) and other local activists of the BRP including Ayam Baloch, Barkat Baloch, Mohammad Ibrahim and Nisar Baloch.

However, Independent sources reported that apart from the raid on the restaurant several other places were also ransacked and dozens of activists have been whisked away.

All the Baloch activists have been taken to unknown locations for further investigations. Officials did not provide any reasons for these arrests.

Local residents in Mand besieged the Levies station to protest against unabated raids and arrests of the local Baloch people by the security forces. On Thursday the BSO-Azad had staged a protest demonstration operation against the Degaari and Marwaar operations.v

Despite the raids and mass arrests a complete shutter down protest is being observed across Balochistan. All the business activities and transport were suspended in different areas of Quetta. Other areas including Noshki, Turbat, Sibbi, Bolan, Naseerabad, Jaffarabad, Qallat, Khuzdar Mastong and Panjgor also observed shutter-down.

The Baloch Republican Party had called for a complete shutter and wheel jam protest to commemorate the fifth martyrdom anniversary of Nawab Akbar Bugti. Other Baloch political parties, Student Organisations including BNF, BSO-Azad, and BNV had announced to fully support the strike call of BRP.
