In a devastating turn of events, Mr. Qambar Chakar has been re-abducted from his house in Shahi Tump, Turbat, Balochistan, on November 26, 2010, along with his cousin, Irshad Nasir (see details below).

Mr. Qambar Chakar, student and activist with the Baloch Students Organisation (Azad), was first abducted on July 10, 2009, in Quetta, Balochistan, but released on April 22, 2010, after a long series of agitations and protests by supporters.

Mr. Qambar Chakar was tortured and suffered greatly while in the custody of paramilitary forces and Pakistani intelligence agencies. Since his release, he had been undergoing treatment with local doctors and hospitals. Prior to his arrest, Qambar Chakar studied at the Balochistan University of Information Technology and Management Sciences in Quetta.

Mr. Irshad Nasir re-abducted

Mr. Irshad Nasir was re-abducted from his house in Shahi Tump, Turbat, Balochistan, on November 26, 2010.

Mr Irshad Nasir had previously been abducted on August 6, 2005, in Kech, Turbat, Balochistan, and released on October 31, 2005. He was a political activist with the Baloch National Movement.

The families of Qambar Chakar and Irshad Nasir request that all human rights organisations and the international community intervene to help save the lives of these young men.

Two more bodies of Baloch abducted activists recovered on second day of Eid: Lala Hameed Baloch also known as Hameed Hayatan Baloch, from Gwadar, and Hamid Ismael Baloch, from Turbat. Also recovered: Asmatullah Sarparah Baloch amd Bashir Lehri Baloch

Report compiled from www.balochwarna.com and bygwaah.com: Two more tortured and bullet-riddled bodies of abducted Baloch were found in the Turbat area of Balochistan on November 18, 2010. The victims have been identified as Lala Hameed Baloch, also known as Hameed Hayatan Baloch of BNM Gwadar, and Hamid Ismael Baloch a resident of Turbat. Lala Hameed Baloch was president of BNM Gwadar zone and a member of the Gwader Press Club. He was abducted on October 25, 2010. According to reports, a letter found in Lala Hameed Baloch's pocket read: "Eid gift for the Baloch Nation". The battered and bullet-riddled bodies of Asmatullah Sarparah Baloch amd Bashir Lehri Baloch were recovered on November 17, 2010 from Mastung. Mr. Sarparah was a student at Balochistan University. He was abducted by the Pakistan army on September 22, 2010. According to eye-witnesses account he was beaten unconscious by army personnel at the time of his arrest. Three friends of Mr. Lehri (Munir Ahmed, Farooq and Safar Nichari) have also been detained by Pakistani officials. Their whereabouts and fate remains unknown.

Abducted: Tariq Taheer

Report compiled from www.bygwaah.com: Tariq Taheer, the son of a Balochi language poet and a social worker from Tanzag, was abducted by Pakistani security agents the night of November 13, 2010, near Gwader at Zero Point while traveling from Karachi to Turbat Tanzag. Tariq had been in Karachi for stomach ulcer treatment. (The author, Archen Baloch, notes that most Baloch travel to Karachi for medical treatment as there are no specialty hospitals in Balochistan. A large number of Baloch have been abducted by Pakistani forces while traveling the Karach to Gwadar road.) Tariq is a government servant in the customs department and a social worker.

Abducted: Naseer Kamalan Baloch

Report compiled from www.bygwaah.com: A senior leader of the BNM (Baloch National Movement), Mr. Naseer Kamalan, was abducted by Pakistani FC while returning from a court hearing. According to eye-witnesses, the FC stopped two vans that were traveling to Pasni, checked the ID cards of all passengers and eventually dragged the Baloch leader out of the van. Other passengers confirmed that the abductors were FC personal in official cars.

Abducted: Faiz Muhammad Marri

Report compiled from balochwarna.com: Karachi: The family of Faiz Muhammad Marri (also known as Shahid) reported his arrest the night of Nov 6 when security forces raided the family residence in the Metrowell area of Karachi. Sindh Ranger Police and other intelligence agency personnel arrived in several dozen vehicles and arrested livestock traders Faiz Muhammad and Khan Muhammad Marri Baloch. Faiz Muhammad, previously missing and released only 20 days ago, is seriously ill from the torture he suffered during his previous incarceration.

The group Anjuman-e-Itehad-e-Marri reports that another Baloch named Shadman Marri was abducted from Uthal, Balochistan, a few days ago, as well as dozens of other Baloch, mostly Marri from the town of Hub, including five Marri Baloch residents visiting from the Thatha region of Sindh.

Abducted: Asim Karim Baloch

The bullet-riddled body of an 18 year old Baloch student was recovered on Sunday evening from the Khanozai area of Pishin, Balochistan. He has been identified as Asim Karim Baloch, a member of the Baloch Students Organization-Azad and a student of Multan Polytechnic College. Asim was strangled. His body bore signs of torture and bullet wounds.

BalochWarna reports that the Asim Karim Baloch, a spokesman of BSO-Azad, was a resident of Besima, Balochistan, and studying in Multan city of Punjab. On October 24, Asim had traveled to Balochistan after learning of the abduction of his elder brother, Tariq Karim Baloch. On October 26, Asim held a press conference at the Quetta Press Club to protest the abduction of his brother Tariq in Karachi. Following the press conference, Asim returned to his home in Besima. On October 30, Asim attended a wedding ceremony. On his way home, Pakistani security forces opened fire. Eyewitnesses report Asim was injured and arrested. He was not heard from again. On November 1, 2010, his dead body was discovered in the Khanozia region of Balochistan.

KARACHI: The family of recently abducted Muhammad Arif on Tuesday urged the Prime Minister, President and Chief Justice to intervene. A large number of ethnic Baloch, including Arif's family and relatives, staged a demonstration in front of the Karachi Press Club and announced that, "Arif was picked up by law enforcers in the midnight hours of Sunday, October 31 from East Garden flat".

Muhammad Arif, son of Noor Muhammad, a 16-grade officer at Gwadar Development Authority, had traveled to Karachi for medical treatment while on official leave.

The family said security agency personnel had not presented warrants to arrest Arif and had dragged him from the house blindfolded and at gunpoint. They threatened and warned the women of Arif's family not to register a complaint with police. Thus far Soldier Bazaar police have refused to lodge a FIR related to Arif's abduction.

Pakistani security agencies do their own 'surge': Balochistan sees great increase in abductions of Baloch by Pakistani security agencies and military since July 2010

Murtaza Baloch of Khuzdar, son of Ghulam Mustafa, was abducted on September 9, 2010, at Mir Chakker Khan Road in Khuzdar. Murtaza is a student, 18 years of age, and is employed by a private company. His brother Yasir Baloch witnessed the abduction. No FIR has been filed.

Sami Baloch, another talented student attending the Engineering University in Khuzdar, was abducted on October 1 by the Pakistan military while returning from school.
