This conference has been convened to appeal to the world and in particular to the United States of America and its inhabitants to not forget or forsake the Baloch struggle simply because it is lacks the public relations ability that others have.
Respected Ladies and Gentlemen,
Balochistan people's struggle for their right to self-determination and independence, from the states at present occupying and exploiting areas and resources belonging historically to Baloch, is in danger of being overlooked and forgotten because of larger conflicts in the region.
The war in Afghanistan and uprisings in the Arab states are overshadowing the Baloch struggle not because the Baloch struggle is weak or unimportant but because the world tends to be enamored of its interests or the glamor and apparent glory in supporting and tending high profile struggles.
This conference has been convened to appeal to the world and in particular to the United States of America and its inhabitants to not forget or forsake the Baloch struggle simply because it is lacks the public relations ability that others have.
I feel very bitter and sad when I see my Baloch mothers and sister sit in front of press clubs in Karachi or Islamabad and look around with sad glances tear full eyes and cry for help from the people who kill their loved ones daily without any charges trails and torture and kill them and throw their severely tortured bodies in streets to create panic and fear in the hearts and minds of those who are still alive and determined to fight and achieve their freedom and rights.
I ask you on behalf of those mother widows and children whose loved ones are killed daily in cold blood where is the powerful west under the leadership of United States of America who strive for freedom, liberty and justice? I came here on behalf of my occupied nation and lands to seek your intervention and help to stop the cruel and unjust occupation and repression carried out by Iran and Pakistan since last 65 years.
Baloch people are proud and freedom lovers as once your great leader Franklin D. Roosevelt said "We, and all others who believe in freedom as deeply as we do, would rather die on our feet than live on our knees."
As one of your other great presidents, Mr. Woodrow Wilson, said "We grow great by dreams."
Baloch people have their dreams as you had, we love freedom of choice, as you do and we will fight for our freedom as you did, and we ask your help as you promised it to free world, we request do not only stand beside oil well and defend the freedom around the oil wells, but please look around you have so many genuine friends ready to walk with you and fight all the mayhems of terrorism and extremism to help create a peaceful and prosperous world where we could all live in peace friendship and dignity.
Unfortunately the US Govt polices are made in a different way. They say pay like the Saudis or obey us the way Pakistani does if not we will make you democrats. But today Balochistan can do neither, but we have the potential of doing all tomorrow if given chance of freedom and human dignity.
Allowing Balochistan to remain occupied by Pakistan and Iran carries inherent danger to world peace because the areas inhabited by the Baloch are rich in resources which allow these states to strengthen their militaries and threaten world peace.
But this should not be the only reason for support of Baloch struggle because it is the duty of all conscientious people of the world to help nations under subjugation to enjoy freedom in the same way they themselves do.
Subjugation doesn't only mean denial of rights to the subjugated but along with it is the inhuman and brutal repression which the subjugated people suffer. Pakistan and Iran systematically trying to destroy Baloch national identity culture and national wealth with all their possible means but we must stop them before we become another tragedy like Red Indian.
As the Baloch struggle for their rights has intensified the repression has too has been notched up a hundred fold. The nearly daily killing and dumping of the abducted Baloch youth and intelligentsia in Balochistan has, sadly, remained unnoticed around the world and there has been no forceful or meaningful condemnation of these atrocities and Baloch have been left to their fate.
The Baloch will certainly welcome voices being raised in their support but they will not give up their struggle even if their struggle goes unnoticed. History shows that Baloch have always struggled against all sorts of imperial armies be they of the Iranian monarchs or the British Colonists.
In those days of yore there was no internet, media or social networking like Facebook, etc. they survived then and they will survive now. Just as a word of caution to my Baloch friends that we should understand the pitfalls of the media glut and shouldn't become a struggle limited to Facebook and Twitter.
It is never too late to initiate a good deed. The countries and organizations that have so far neglected espousing the Baloch cause should begin now and Baloch people will appreciate their efforts to help and support the Baloch cause. I request the media outlets here to pay attention to the Baloch cause so that the people here are better informed about the struggle and goals of the Baloch people.
The Baloch struggle is essentially secular and democratic and needs to be supported instead of the fundamentalist government and army of Pakistan which for its own interests classifies Taliban as the bad Taliban and good Taliban. Yes, you rightly assume that those that obey them are the good Talibans. The Pakistani state not only exports terror it terrorizes people living within its boundaries, Balochistan, Sindh and Gilgit Baltistan being the examples.
The need for unity among all those struggling for Baloch self determination cannot be emphasized upon enough even if the entire day was spent is reaffirming the utmost and urgent need for this.
All can and should unite on basis of a minimum programe of the creation of a secular democratic Balochistan. But there always will be agent provocateurs who take the most radical position only to abandon the struggle when the time for sacrifices comes.
All Baloch and their sympathizers should beware of such shady characters who with their divisive acts and statements continue their efforts to sabotage the Baloch struggle from within.
It is always easy to demand and expect sacrifices when you are not the one who is to sacrifice so I'll not ask the Baloch to sacrifice until I myself in the field facing all the real dangers and threats that all those brave and selfless Baloch are facing and yet in spite of overwhelming odds are continuing the struggle at cost of their lives.
I appeal to all Baloch and their sympathizers to observe a minute silence for all those brave sons of soil who have sacrificed their lives and those who continue to put their and their families' lives in danger for the glorious cause of Baloch Independence.
I thank you all for your very kind support and your precious time for helping us further the cause of an unjustly oppressed nation who can contribute to the world peace and enrich the world's cultural diversity with its old culture, history and heritage.
