Our Mission:
At Crisis Balochistan we chronicle's news and events related to Balochistan--both East (Pakistan) and West (Iran)--in hopes that the larger world will come to know of the desperate circumstances in which many Baloch live. The Baloch of Pakistan are now in the middle of a 5th insurgency against the government of Pakistan in an effort to win control of their resources so that they, too, might benefit (as the rest of Pakistan does) from the resources that are extracted from their lands. Additionally, the secular Baloch are struggling to gain access to education, health care, improved infrastructure and other amenities associated with life in developed nations. Hundreds, if not thousands, of Baloch have been disappeared and or murdered by Pakistan's military and securities agencies. Pakistan rarely allows journalists or human rights organizations to travel freely in Balochistan and coverage in the world press is inadequate. Crisis Balochistan hopes to fill some of the gaps in this coverage by posting articles from both established journalists and unpublished writers.
Our Values:
We advocate for free speech, human rights, equality and accountability.
