Appeal to PM, President, CJ for recovery of missing Baloch

from Zafar Ahmed Khan's report:

KARACHI: In a Press conference at the Karachi Press Club on Tuesday, Abid Baloch, the younger brother of missing Arif Noor Baloch appealed to President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani, and Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to help win the release of his brother who has been missing since midnight, October 31, 2010.

Abid said that Arif Noor Baloch was working as a 16 grade officer in Gwadar Development Authority (GDA). Arif had suffered an accident and had moved to his home in Jaffer Aziz apartment, Garden East, Karachi, where his parents and other family members live. Two months later, while recovering, unknown persons in the company of police officials in civilian dress kidnapped Arif Baloch from his house in Garden East. Abid said that following the kidnapping, Arif's family contacted the Soldier Bazaar Police, but the police refused to register the FIR of Arif's kidnapping.

Abid highlighted that the family had registered a petition in the Sindh High Court after the court ordered Soldier Bazaar Police to register FIR 377/2010 against the unknown kidnappers. Abid Baloch claimed that Arif Noor Baloch could be killed, just as other Baloch persons have been killed following abductions in Balochistan. Abid demanded that the United Nations Human Rights Commission and other human welfare associations play a positive role and help win the release of Arif Noor Baloch from his abductors. Other members of Abid's family were present at the conference.
