Six relatives of abducted Baloch students disappeared

PANJGUR, Balochistan: Pakistani security forces, Frontier Corps (FC), surrounded and raided several houses at dawn in the Chitkan area of District Panjgur and arrested several Baloch residents. The arrested include: Abdul Rehman, Karim Jan, Ghulam Jan, Aman Jan and Shakir Baloch. All these men are related. Abdul Rehman is a local school teacher and Karim Jan works at the local TV station. Ghulam Jan is the father of university student Ejaz Baloch who was kidnapped by security forces along with three cousins, Waseem Fazal Baloch, Babu Iftikar Baloch and Zahid Pazeer Baloch, also students, last month from Karachi. The students are all still missing.

February 22, 2013 | Karachi Extra-judicial Abductions

Mama Qadeer, Chairman of Voice of Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP), reported on February 10 that Manzoor Ahmed Qalandarani was abducted by Pakistani agencies from Gulshan-e-Mehmar at midnight, February 8, 2013, while studying in Iqra University, Karachi. Manzoor is the son of Mir Mushtaq Qalandarani, a tribal elder of Tootak, Balochistan.

Mama Qadeer noted that 30 of Manzoor's relatives and friends were abducted by agencies last year from Tootak, Khuzdar. Two of the abductees, Maqsood Qalandarani and Naeem Qalandarani, were killed and the rest are still missing.

As of January 28, 2013, 4 more Karachi students have been abducted. They include: Waseem Fazal Baloch, Ejaz Ghulam Baloch, Babu Iftikar Baloch and Zahid Pazeer Baloch.
